What’s Happening this Weekend in Charleston
If you have kids and they’re at the age where Disney characters mean everything to them, you might want to check out the Charleston Ballet’s performance of The Little Mermaid on May 15 & 16 at the Charleston Ballet Theater. Tickets can be purchased at the charleston ballet.
You may also want to check out the performance of Jack & the Beanstalk on May 15 or May 16 at Creative Spark in Mt. Pleasant. For more information go to Creative Spark.
MUSIC EVENTS
Rockin on the Point, Friday May 14, the Dave Mathewes Tribute Band will be at 5:30 p.m. The Charleston Harbor Resort. Admission is $5.00.
Dance the night away at the Moonlight Mixer on May 14 at Folly Beach Fishing Pier. For more information call (843) 795-4FUN.
THE ARTS
On May 15 & 16, at Azalea Park, Sculpture in the South will take place. Where instructors will present workshops & afterschool programs.
FESTIVALS & EVENTS
On May 15 at 11:00 a.m. , get a taste of the Gullah culture at the Gullah Celebration at the Wadamalaw Community Center. There will be Gullah cuisine, an auction of handmade quilts, storytelling and much more.
Also happening on Wadmalaw Island, the First Flush Festival at the Charleston Tea Plantation on Sunday, May 16. A great musical line-up to include Chucktowne Music Group (a music group founded by Mark Bryan of Hootie & the Blowfish.)
